Palali – Achchuveli main road reopened after 3 decades (Pics)
The Palali – Achchuveli main road, which was kept closed for over 03 decades, reopened today (Nov. 01) on the directives of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The road, which was closed due to the war, had remained thus for 15 years even after the war ended.
During a discussion with the President on Oct. 22, Northern Province governor – Nagalingam Vethanayagam had conveyed the longstanding public request to reopen the road.
In response, the President had instructed security officials to address safety concerns and do the needful.
