Kaduwela Magistrate Chanima Wijebandara ordered the release of Ihala Bomiriya Sri Sumanarama Chief Incumbent Pallegama Sumana Thera on a surety bail of Rs.100,000.
Based on the complaints made by the residents over the Thera’s conduct, he was presented in the court yesterday (08).
Eight villagers were remanded and released on bail on charges of entering the temple by force and assaulting the Thera and two women who were staying with the monk.
The villagers demanded that the Thera should also be arrested.
