Debate resolution on DDO, only tomorrow (Update)

Secretary General of the Parliament Mrs. Kushani Rohanadeera, said that it was decided in the Committee on Parliamentary Business held today (30) afternoon under the patronage of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, to debate the Resolution for the implementation of the Domestic Debt Optimization to restore sovereign debt sustainability only tomorrow (01).

Accordingly, tomorrow (01) from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm, the resolution will be debated and if a division is requested, it will be held at 7.30 pm.

The Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawadena was also present in this meeting.

No parliamentary sittings next Tuesday

Meanwhile, the Secretary General said that it was decided not to hold parliamentary sittings on the 4th Tuesday of next week.

Accordingly, the Parliament is scheduled to meet only on 5,6 and 7 of next week.

Parliament to debate & vote on DDR programme tomorrow

Party leaders’ have decided to take up the government’s Domestic Debt Restructuring programme for debate in Parliament tomorrow (01).

Parliament will be in session from 9.30am to 7.30pm and a vote will be taken at 7.30pm.

Party leaders have also decided not to hold a parliament session on Sunday (02).
