A fundamental rights petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking an interim order directing the Finance Ministry Secretary to prevent the transfer of government shares in Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT).
The petition has further requested that another order be issued to the Prime Minister and the Cabinet to prevent the transfer of shares of SLT.
The petition was filed by Sri Lanka All Telecommunication Employees Union President J. B. Gurusinghe and Secretary H. K. Hettiarachchi.
