Public Health Inspectors have seized a stock of 3,600 imported eggs unfit for human consumption.

The eggs, amounting to over Rs. 250,000 were to be sold at the Sathosa outlet in Kekirawa.

The eggs, which were required to be stored between 2-5 °C, were found by the PHIs to be stored otherwise.

As per a Cabinet decision, around 42 million eggs were imported to prevent a shortage of eggs during the festive season.
