The Public Health Inspectors (PHI) have launched a trade union action across the country, Public Health Inspectors’ Association Secretary S. Bopitiya said.
They have launched the TU action based on several demands including a request to increase the transport allowance.
Mr. Bopitiya said that a group of nearly 2,400 officers from all over the country are participating in the campaign.
However, he said that the trade union action is not being implemented in several places including the Apeksha Hospital and the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children.
