The Public Health Inspectors’ Union (PHIU) has formally informed the Health Ministry Secretary that they will withdraw from duties related to Dengue Eradication efforts.
President of the PHIU – Upul Rohana has said that they had decided to resort to Trade Union action after authorities had failed to respond to their grievances.
Accordingly, the PHIU is to stop giving all progress reports and attend meetings.
Also, they are to strike from all field duties on Dec. 01 and start provincial level protests from Dec. 15.
