The Public Health Inspector’s Union of Sri Lanka says that the recent deaths of several pilgrims are suspected to have occurred due to food poisoning.
President of the PHIs’ union, Mr. Upul Rohana, 10 more patients diagnosed with food poisoning and bacterial infections have been reported.
He requests the those going on pilgrimages to follow safe food practices and to take as much as boiled drinking water from their homes as possible.
