Mr. Mahinda Deshapriya, Chairman of the National Delimitation Committee appointed for the demarcation of wards for local authorities, has said that an interim report formulated by the committee will be handed over to Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena next Tuesday.
He adds that mapping of the district level demarcation work has also commenced after reviewing proposals received by his committee on the district level as well as those raised by various parties and by the committee itself.
Mr. Deshapriya also says that he has obtained the final proposals needed for the report by traveling to the districts.
He also said that he expects to hand over his final report around March 31.
