Police Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manatunga has clarified reports of his resignation.
Speaking to the media, he has said that he had requested a transfer due to personal reasons.
Noting that a police officer has no option of resigning from a duty delegated to him/her, Manatunga emphasized that he will continue to work as the police spokesman until a suitable appointment is made by the National Police Commission and relevant authorities.
