The Election Commission (EC) postal ballot packets for 114 Local Government (LG) institutions will be handed over to the Postal Department today (April 07).
Officials have confirmed that distribution will begin today or tomorrow.
However, ballot papers for the remaining 225 local government bodies have been delayed due to ongoing court proceedings.
This decision was reached during a meeting of the Election Commission held yesterday morning (April 06).
Meanwhile, leave of postal workers was cancelled from yesterday (April 06) until the conclusion of the Local Government Elections, Deputy Postmaster General Premachandra Herath has stated.
