The United Front of Postal Unions has decided to postpone the 48-hour strike that was planned to be launched today (25) by two weeks.

The trade union has presented several demands including an additional cost of living allowance of Rs.2,000 and immediate measures to fill the vacancies and to remove salary discrepancies.

United Front of Postal Unions Secretary Sampath C. Liyanage said that this decision was taken after considering the assurance made by State Minister for Media Shantha Bandara to fulfill their demands.

Mr. Liyanage said that they will launch a strike without any notice if no proper response is received in this regard within the next two weeks.
