Postal voting possible only if ballot papers are received soon

The Election Commission said the postal voting of the Local Government Elections can be held on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of this month as previously planned only if the ballot papers are received today or tomorrow.

If the ballot papers are not received within these two days, a decision will be taken on the date of the postal vote next Monday.

Meanwhile, the National People’s Power has handed over a letter to the United Nations office in Colombo regarding the ongoing attempts to postpone the elections.
