Following the Supreme Court ruling that led to the expulsion of former Ministers Harin Fernando and Manusha Nanayakkara from Parliament, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has assumed control of the vacated ministries.
Through a gazette notification, the President has brought the Ministries of Tourism and Lands, Sports and Youth Affairs, and Labour and Foreign Employment under his purview.
The ministers lost their Cabinet posts after the court upheld their expulsion from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) for crossing over to the government.
