The Ministry of Environment portfolio held by former MP Naseer Ahamed has been taken under the purview of the President, through an Extraordinary Gazette.
The Environment portfolio fell vacant following the expulsion of Naseer Ahamed from the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress.
Ahamed lost his Parliamentary seat due to a subsequent court order.
