Minister of Education – Susil Premajayantha states that school Principals have been informed in writing to postpone sports meets and other outdoor activities until the third phase of the first school term which will commence on April 24.
Noting that the decision has been taken in the view of prevailing soaring temperatures, the minister has said that a circular would be issued in this regard.
The minister says that school sports meets are being held despite the extreme hot weather.
Pointing out that since the First school Term will continue even after the New Year holidays, the minister says that the the sports meets can be held then.
