An official of the Prisons Department has been sternly reprimanded by the Commissioner General of Prisons – Thushara Upuldeniya, reports say.
Media reports had revealed that the official in question had attended a party thrown by pastor Jerome Fernando, who faces allegations of insulting Buddhism and was released on bail recently.
The matter has also been brought to the attention of Minister of Justice and Prisons – Wijedasa Rajapaksa, who in return had sought an explanation from Ms. Upuldeniya.
