Thico Group owner Thilini Priyamali, who was granted bail by the court on December 16 after being remanded for 72 days in connection with a large-scale financial fraud, remained in prison as of yesterday (19).
Prisons Media Spokesman and Commissioner (Administration) Chandana Ekanayake told Aruna yesterday that the suspect is still in jail as she had failed to meet bail conditions.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage ordered the release of Priyamali on a cash bail of Rs.50,000 and sureties of Rs.20 million.
The Magistrate imposed a foreign travel ban on the suspect and ordered her to report to the CID between 9 am and 12 pm on the last Sunday of every month.
Priyamali was arrested by the CID on October 5 for allegedly defrauding billionaires, politicians, actors, actresses, and Buddhist monks.
