Thilini Priyamali, who is in remand custody over large-scale financial fraud, has lodged a complaint with the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission yesterday (06) stating that she was stripped naked and treated in an inhumane manner inside the prison.

Suspect’s lawyer Manju Sri Chandrasena said the prison officials who came to the cell where Priyamali is detained had ordered her to remove her clothes.

They have told her to keep her legs apart and shined a flashlight on her private area causing great distress, the complaint said.

Priyamali’s lawyers requested the Human Rights Commission to conduct an investigation regarding the alleged physical and mental abuse she suffered in the prison.
