PSD security for Iranian President!

It is reported that the Presidential Security Division has taken over the security of the visiting Iranian President – Ebrahim Raisi, who will arrive at Sri Lanka on April 24 for the inauguration of the Uma Oya project.

The Iranian President is to land at Mattala Airport and escorted to Uma Oya before being escorted to Colombo for a discussion with his Sri Lankan counterpart.

A special discussion with regard to the visit had been reportedly held yesterday (April 18) between officials of the Defence Ministry and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It was also previously reported that the US had voiced opposition against the Iranian President’s visit.
