Higher Education State Minister Suren Raghavan has proposed to avoid the use of air conditioners in order to reduce the electricity bill in Parliament.

The minister made this proposal yesterday (22) in Parliament and pointed out that duties of Parliament were done without AC during the covid pandemic as well.

“We need to minimize the use of air conditioning in Parliament in order to reduce the electricity bill. During the covid-19 pandemic, we conducted sessions without air conditioning. If necessary, use air conditioning for a short period of time only at noon. About 80% of the MPs are from middle class families and we did not grow up in houses with air-conditioners. That’s why we can run this assembly without air-conditioners,” he said.
