Rajanganaye Saddharathana Thera was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department last night (28).
He was arrested in Srawasthipura, Anuradhapura for allegedly making statements that harm religious harmony.
The arrest was made in relation to the investigations carried out on a complaint made by Pahiyangala Ananda Sagara Thera against Saddharathana Thera for making statements that are harmful to religious harmony.
The arrested Thera is scheduled to be produced in the Fort Magistrate’s Court today (29).
