Kosgoda Ran Mahaththaya, an accomplice of underworld leader Kosgoda Sujee, was killed in a shooting that took place in Hiddaruwa, Kosgoda this morning (21), police said.
Two unknown gunmen arrived on a motorcycle had fired shots at the victim who was in his house.
Police suspects that the reason for the shooting is a rivalry between two underworld groups and that the shooting may have been carried out to take revenge for the shooting of a former member of the Rathgama Pradeshiya Sabha.
The Kosgoda Police is conducting further investigations.
