“Ranjith Madduma Bandara was the first who was warned of Zahran”

MP Sarath Weerasekera has said that the then Intelligence head had initially informed about Zahran to the then minister of law and order – Ranjith Madduma Bandara.

He had said this during the adjournment debate on the Easter Sunday attacks which is currently underway.

MP Weerasekara also tabled a letter sent to MP Madduma Bandara by the then SIS Director – Nilantha Jayawardena on 2018 May 19, which stated the necessity to arrest Zahran.
In addition, the Security Council and the Secretary of Defence’s intelligence discussions have constantly mentioned Zahran, pointing out the need to arrest him.
