The Coalition Against Partition of Sri Lanka (CAPSL) staged a protest yesterday in front of the U.S. Embassy in Colombo, accusing U.S. Envoy Julie Chung of violating diplomatic protocols.
The protesters alleged that USAID funds are being used to undermine Sri Lanka’s sovereignty and create divisions among its communities.
Demonstrators called on U.S. authorities to recall Ms. Chung, claiming that her actions and the alleged misuse of aid funds are detrimental to Sri Lanka’s unity and stability.
The protest highlights growing concerns over foreign influence and the perceived impact of international aid on the country’s internal affairs.
