The relatives of inmates at the Galle Prison have been granted permission to visit the prison again, the Department of Prisons said.
In recent days, visits to the prison were restricted due to the outbreak of a skin disease among the inmates.
Two inmates died as a result of the disease. Nine inmates have been hospitalised with four of them still undergoing treatment at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.
It was also said that the spread of the disease has been brought under control.
However, the Prisons Department said that the prisoners would not be taken out.
