SriLankan Airlines has called for a report from its officials regarding the delay of a SriLankan flight in Melbourne, Australia.

Meanwhile, SriLankan Airlines said that they have taken steps to provide all facilities to the passengers who were inconvenienced at the Melbourne Airport for many hours.

The flight UL-605, which was scheduled to depart from Melbourne at 4.10 pm on Saturday (15) and arrive in Colombo, was unexpectedly delayed due to a mechanical failure.

The passengers alleged that no responsible official from SriLankan Airlines came to investigate the situation.

However, it was reported that six engineers of SriLankan Airlines left for Melbourne Airport on Saturday to repair and restore the aircraft.

The flight, which was delayed for almost 30 hours, took off from Melbourne Airport on Sunday (16) at 10 pm local time, carrying 218 passengers.

The plane reached Katunayake at around 7.40 am yesterday (17).
