Request made to recruit 2,500 doctors!
Health Ministry Secretary Janaka Sri Chandragupta said that they have sought the Finance Ministry’s approval to recruit 2,500 new medical doctors.
Accordingly, the secretary said that there will be no shortage of doctors in the future.
However, he admitted that there is a shortage of specialist doctors in some of the medical fields.
The secretary also said that some doctors have either left the country or have gone abroad on leave.
He said that action will be taken against those who travel overseas for further education at the government’s expense and then refuse to return.
