Two retired senior police investigators, Ravi Seneviratne and Shani Abeysekara, have extended their support to the National People’s Power (NPP) led by Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Retired Senior DIG Ravi Seneviratne and former Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Shani Abeysekara took the stage at an NPP event attended by retired police officers.
Speaking at the event, Seneviratne referred to Anura Kumara Dissanayake as the next President of Sri Lanka. He also revealed that some retired police officers who attended the event faced harassment and threats.
Seneviratne questioned the current state of law enforcement in Sri Lanka and expressed confidence in the NPP, stating that the party has a solid plan for the country. Both Seneviratne and Abeysekara are known for handling several high-profile cases and faced harassment under former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s administration.
