The six lion cubs born at the Rideeyagama Safari Park in Hambantota three months ago will be put on public display on the upcoming Independence Day.
It has been decided to give opportunity to the public the opportunity to name these cubs before that, Ridiyagama Safari Park Assistant Director Hemantha Samarasekara said on Tuesday.
He said that names can be suggested for these lion cubs through the official Facebook page of the Ridiyagama Safari Park or via Messenger.
These six lion cubs were born to a lioness “Dora” and another lioness named “Lara” at the Ridiyagama Safari Park in Hambantota.
Among the six lion cubs that have been born, there are five females and one male.
The Zoo’s veterinarians said that the cubs are about three months old and are very healthy and are eating meat in addition to their mother’s milk.
The lion cubs have already been properly vaccinated and are scheduled to be exhibited to the public on February 4.
