MP Rishad Bathiudeen is having discussions to file a case demanding compensation based on several issues including his arrest, detention and defamation based on false charges in connection with Easter Sunday attacks, his Counsel Rushdi Habeeb said.
“The civil action that can be taken for making a complaint to the police under false charges and detaining under the PTA for seven months is seeking compensation through a court case. A fundamental rights petition has already been filed in the Supreme Court by naming those involved in this matter as respondents,” he said.
