The Attorney General has yesterday informed the Supreme Court that Rs. 245 million has been paid to the victims of the Easter Sunday bombings.
The compensation has been paid from the funds recovered, as ordered by the Supreme Court judgment, in connection with the 13 FR petitions filed over the failure to prevent the Easter attack.
Additional Solicitor General – Viveka Siriwardena, appearing for the Attorney General, informed the Supreme Court that, as per the Supreme Court judgment, the respondents have paid a total of Rs. 311 million to the Office for Reparations.
