Secretary of the Electricity Consumers’ Association, Sanjeewa Dhammika alleges that the public has suffered a loss of a Rs. 85 billion after Tenders of the Siyambalanduwa power project were awarded to a party that had bid at a higher price.
He said that a complaint has been made to the CID yesterday (May 27) in this regard calling for a full investigation.
Mr. Dhammika also said that details will be disclosed under legal conditions in the future.
The Electricity Consumers’ Association also held a silent protest in front of the CID yesterday, as a mark of protest against the losses incurred due to this project.
