Sajith issues statement on arrest of YouTuber
Leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) – Sajith Premadasa has issued a statement on the recent arrest of a YouTuber at the Colombo International Bookfair.
The YouTuber – Kalpa Gunaratne was arrested on Oct. 03 and Mr. Premadasa’s statement notes that the conduct of the police is questionable.
He also calls on authorities to immediately hold an impartial investigation in this regard.
Mr. Premadasa also notes that any citizen has the right to engage in citizen journalism and that right cannot be suppressed.
