Colombo Additional Magistrate T. N. L. Ilangasinghe ordered the government analyst to obtain DNA reports of 10 staff members of the Colombo National Hospital, including nurses, who were on duty at the accident ward when Janashakthi Group of companies Director Dinesh Schaffter was admitted.

The government analyst’s report said that two foreign biological samples (DNA) were found in addition to the deceased on the items that were sent for testing.

Accordingly, the Magistrate issued this order after taking into consideration the facts submitted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) through a motion.

The CID informed the court that the government analyst had identified these foreign DNA samples on the cable found around the deceased’s neck, the wire that was used to tie his hands and on his water bottle.
