The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is mulling to submit the footage obtained from the CCTV found along the way from Janashakthi PLC Director Dinesh Schaffter’s residence to the Public Cemetery, Borella to the persons and institutions with expertise in the matter and obtain a thorough report.
Security camera footage has become a vital piece of evidence in the investigation into the mysterious murder of Mr.Schaffter.
According to police information, the CID intends to clear the doubts pertaining to findings of CCTV footage by obtaining scientific evidence.
A senior police officer said further investigation will be conducted by analyzing available evidence. The officials from the Fingerprint Bureau have found 11 or so fingerprints in Mr.Schaffter’s vehicle. The fingerprints have been analyzed and the report has already been given to the CID. The fingerprints of the cemetery worker and Mr.Schaffter’s assistant who took him to the hospital are also among them.
CID internal sources said further investigations including call record analysis are still being conducted. The CID is scheduled to submit a report to the court on the next court date in this regard.
