The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced that all schools across the island will remain closed from Nov. 13 for the General Election which will be held on Nov. 14.
Accordingly, schools will be handed over to the respective Grama Niladhari officers after classes end on November 12.
Education Ministry Secretary, Ms. J.M. Thilaka Jayasundara requested that all Zonal Education Directors and principals be notified about handing over the school desks, chairs and halls for election purposes.
They are expected to reopen on Nov. 18.
