A private bus plying from Colombo towards Kataragama has met with an accident near the Jubilee Bullers Junction on Duplication Road in Bambalapitiya early this morning (14).
According to the Bambalapitiya Police, the bus collided with a lorry coming from Thummulla and overturned on the road.
Fifteen passengers were in the bus at the time of the accident and seven passengers who were injured have been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
Investigations revealed that the bus driver had disregarded traffic light warnings.
The Bambalapitiya Police are conducting further investigations.
