A Gazette Extraordinary by President’s Secretary, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake states that several provincial governors have resigned, following the swearing-in of Anura Kumara Dissanayake as the new President.
The resigned governors are as follows :
Governor of the Central Province – Lalith U. Gamage
Governor of the North Central Province – Mahipala Herath
Governor of the Southern Province Lakshman – Yapa Abeywardana
Governor of the Eastern Province – Senthil Thondaman
Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province – Navin Dissanayake
Governor of the Uva Province – Anura Vidanagamage
Meanwhile, the media unit for the Northern Province Governor P. S. M. Charles has also announced Ms. Charles’ resignation.
