Several schools in the Southern Province have been closed today (15) due to heavy rains experienced since yesterday.
Accordingly, the Morawaka (Deniyaya) Zonal Educational Office said that all the schools in the Morawaka and Kotapola Divisions belonging to the Morawaka Educational Zone (Deniyaya) will be closed today.
All schools except Urubokka National School and Pattiwila Primary School in Pasgoda Division under the Morawaka Educational Zone (Deniyaya) will remain closed.
Meanwhile, the Mulatiyana Zonal Educational Office said that the schools in Kithalagama East and Kithalagama West under the Thihagoda Division will remain closed today.
Diyalape Primary School, Athuraliya Maha Vidyalaya, Pahuranwila Primary School and Paraduwa Primary School in Akuressa and Malimbada Divisions have also been closed today.
The following schools will also remain closed today.
