An extraordinary gazette has been issued by Acting President’s Secretary Chandani Wijayawardena declaring several services as essential services.
Accordingly, all services connected to the supply of electricity, the supply or distribution of petroleum products and fuel, all services, work or labour of any description necessary or required to be done in connection with the maintenance, and reception, care, feeding and treatment of patients in hospitals, nursing homes, dispensaries and other similar institutions have been named as essential services.
