An unknown gunman has fired shots at Ampitiye Sumana Thera, the Chief Incumbent of Sri Mangalarama Vihara and Keviliyamadu Sumanarathana Temple in Batticaloa in the early hours of today (13).
The shots have been fired at the room where Sumana Thera was staying, and the gunman is said to have fled.
It was reported that the prelate was in the room when the shots were fired, but he was not injured in the attack.
