The Department of Meteorology has predicted showers or thundershowers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Eastern provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts during the afternoon or night today (12).
Showers have also been predicted for the Western and North-Western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
Fairly heavy showers of about 75mm can be expected at some places in the Uva province and in the Ampara district, the Met Department further says.
Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
