A slight increase in rains is expected today (20) and tomorrow (21) compared to yesterday (19), the Department of Meteorology said.
Accordingly, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Northern Provinces, Galle and Matara Districts will experience occasional rains or thundershowers, and some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces may experience heavy rains of about 100 mm.
Rain or thundershowers will occur in the rest of the country during the evening or night.
The Department of Meteorology also stated that strong winds of around 40-45 kilometers per hour may occur in the western slopes of the central mountains and in the Southern Province from time to time.
