Veteran singer Saman de Silva had been involved in a fight with staff members of a restaurant after refusing to settle the bill, Ada Derana reported.
The incident was reported from Panadura and the restaurant staff had lodged a complaint with the police.
Mr. Silva and a group of people had visited the restaurant in Panadura on Saturday night (01) and had ordered some food worth Rs.1,650.
A heated exchange of words had taken place between Mr. Silva and a group of employees of the restaurant and after that he had tried to leave without paying.
Mr. Silva who refused to pay the bill is said to have behaved violently.
Two employees of the restaurant were injured in the incident and some restaurant items were damaged.
The cashier and the waiter who faced this incident had lodged the complaint at the Panadura South Police.
‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ made several attempts to contact Singer Saman de Silva but they were unsuccessful.
