Six undergraduates have been arrested for assaulting the former vice chancellor of Peradeniya University and his son.
The six suspected students were arrested after surrendering to the police last night (12).
The arrested students are between the ages of 23 and 25 and are residents of Nittambuwa, Sandalangala, Girithale, Matale, Henegamuwa and Galagamwatta.
Police said that another six suspected students have been identified in relation to the incident and the Peradeniya Police are conducting further investigations to arrest them.
