Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Nalin Bandara has announced that the opposition will propose a name for the position of Speaker of Parliament.
Speaking at a media briefing held in Colombo today (Dec. 15), MP Bandara has stated that the nomination would be presented at the upcoming parliamentary session scheduled for December 17.
“We know we will not be able get our nominee elected, but we hope to create a situation for the people to compare the candidates. If we had contested for the post on November 21 then the people would have said the Opposition nominee would have been better than Ranwala who falsly claimed a doctorate,” he has said.
