Sri Lanka has received a grant of 40,000 MT of diesel from the Japanese government designated to fortify healthcare transportation services, especially benefiting ambulance operations.

The formal handover ceremony was held at the Colombo Port today in the presence of Japanese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mizukoshi Hideaki and Minister of Health and Industry Dr. Ramesh Pathirana.

Furthermore, to ensure transparent and accountable management of the diesel resources, authorities have introduced a sophisticated Fuel Management Information System (FIMS), which will meticulously track the distribution of the diesel across healthcare institutions, maintaining detailed records of fuel allocations to vehicles and facilities.
