The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) has decided to refer Sri Lankans for employment in Israel only after obtaining permission from the Population and Immigration Authority of Israel and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Deputy General Manager Gamini Senarath Yapa said that this decision was reached due to the Israeli-Palestinian conflicts.
Meanwhile, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel Nimal Bandara said that if any Sri Lankan worker wishes to return, they have the opportunity to do so.
