SLFP CC backs RW at Prez polls
The Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) met with President Ranil Wickremesinghe today (31) and conveyed their steadfast support for his success in the upcoming presidential election.
The announcement was officially made after a meeting held between the SLFP Central Committee and President Wickremesinghe, earlier today.
In response, President Wickremesinghe expressed gratitude for the SLFP’s endorsement and emphasized that such unity is crucial for advancing the country. He noted that while other groups are focused on traditional politics, his goal is to unite all factions to propel Sri Lanka forward.
President Wickremesinghe also highlighted that this level of cooperation is unprecedented since the formation of the United National Party in 1946.
The President affirmed his commitment to incorporating the perspectives of various political parties to shape a national framework for the country’s development.
